Mink Breeding Project Has No EIA EcoLur “Mink Breeding Company” LLC has submitted “Mink Breeding Project” for the consideration of “Environmental Expertise” SNCO of Nature Protection Ministry. Under the project, it’s planned to breed mink near the surroundings of Lermontovo Village, Lori Region, Armenia. The project says, “We need 400 sq meters of working and warehouse territories and 50 sq meters of office space.”

It should be mentioned that EIA is completely missing in the project, which doesn’t say a word about the flora and fauna, as well as whether or not the project poses risks for environment. In such case it’s unclear what Environmental Expertise” SNCO of Nature Protection Ministry will consider. The project is a review about minks, their breeding and sale of furs. At present the average price for one mink fur fluctuates between 65-75 Euros.
