The population of bezoar goats makes up from 400 to 600 in Vayots Dzor region at present, while it made up only 30-35 goats 6-7 years ago.
According to Vardges Matevosyan, the Governor of Vayots Dzor, if the population increases, he will suggest to the Government of RA to take out bezoar goats of Red Book of Armenia.
According to Karen Manvelyan, the director of WWF-Armenia, besoar goat population makes up 350 to 400 in Vayots Dzor. He mentioned that besoar goats should be taken out of Red Book, if their population increases not only in Vayots Dzor but also in the whole area of habitat.
