Kapan public is demanding to hand the water supply and water discharge management system to Kapan community. On June 21 local NGOs posed their demand to Patrick Loren, General Director of “ArmWaterCanal” CJSC during their meeting with the latter, Kapan Mayor Ashot Hayrapetyan, Kapan Aldermen’s Council and local NGOs at Kapan Municipality, as “For Ensuring Environmental Safety and Developing Democracy” NGO Legal Consultant Arthur Ghazaryan told EcoLur.
Kapan Aldermen’s Council made a decision on 7 June 2013 to hand Kapan water supply and water discharge management systems on gratis to “ArmWaterCanal” CJSC for a period of 25 years. Kapan residents don’t trust “ArmWaterCanal” CJSC taking into consideration the latter’s poor management and experience in this field. A signature collection has been launched in Kapan to take back water supply and water discharge management system from “ArmWaterCanal” CJSC and to hand it to Kapan community. Under Arthur Ghazaryan, the results of the signature collection participated by thousands of people will be soon summed up.
It should be mentioned that Kapan Mayor Ashot Hayrapetyan hasn’t signed any agreement with “ArmWaterCanal” on handing water supply and water discharge management system so far.
