Climate Finance Issues Addressed at International Conference “Towards COP27: Climate Finance and Water Infrastructure”

Climate finance faces real challenges that need to be addressed urgently. The issues were raised at “Towards COP27: Climate Finance and Water Infrastructure” international online conference organized by “Rivers without Boundaries” International Ecological Coalition on November 2, 2022.

EcoLur President Inga Zarafyan raised the issue of financing climate programs from green funds. The issue is that some funded projects have a clear anti-climate vector. The proposal is to jointly put public pressure on green funds in terms of funding principles and policies of the foundations, the balance in relation to the development of alternative energy, the conservation of natural ecosystems and their sustainable use, climate policy and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as increasing responsibility of funding organizations.
