Development of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship in Borderline Settlements within Framework of "Sustainable Communities" Project

“Sustainable Communities” project of the United Nations Development Program supports communities by providing an additional source of income for local residents.

During the press conference held on January 29, 2024, Arman Valesyan, Head of "Sustainable Communities" project, and Mkhitar Balayan, Project Expert, presented the project.

"The project carries out its work in border settlements. It is aimed at infrastructure development and job creation, particularly supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises," Arman Valesyan noted. In Vardenis community, Gegharkunik Region, 10 beneficiaries have already been selected, who will be engaged in the production of hay. Beneficiaries in Chambarak consolidated community should be selected from Chambarak, Ttujur, Vahan, Jil, Artanish and Tsapatagh settlements.

Another initiative of "Sustainable Communities" project is "HONEY-MONEY" project, within the framework of which bee hives and dry production networks were provided to the residents of Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Armavir, Aragotsotn, Ararat, Syunik and Vayots Dzor Regions.
