Armenia's first-ever drone-assisted innovative method of organic fertilization for pastures took place

On June 14, in the Aghnjadzor settlement of the Yeghegis community, Vayots Dzor region, Armenia's first-ever drone-assisted innovative method of organic fertilization for pastures took place with the support of ECOserve Programme implemented by GIZ.

The initiative was implemented by the ICARE foundation in the framework of the "Improving agricultural land and natural resources, contributing to food security in Syunik and Vayots Dzor Marzes” measure implemented by ECOserve Programme of GIZ commissioned by the German Government.

This method aims to breathe new life into degraded pastures through foliar fertilization.

After the field demo, a round table discussion brought together all the key players to celebrate and discuss the achievements.

In the framework of  the implemented measure, 542 ha of uncultivated arable land has been improved and 100 ha of pastures has been rehabilitated. 352 beneficiaries have directly benefited from the support in Sisian and Yeghegis communities of Syunik and Vayots Dzor regions.
