"Ecolur" Information NGO Published Its Analysis Entitled "Ahead of COP 29"

The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the supreme decision-making body overseeing the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. The convention has 198 member countries.

The analysis addresses the reasons for holding COP29 in Azerbaijan, examining that country's trends in oil and gas extraction and sales, its simulation of climate policies, and the imitation initiatives presented within the COP29 framework. It also covers the international community's and organizations' reactions to the decision to hold COP29 in Azerbaijan, including responses to human rights violations from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the U.S. State Department regarding Azerbaijan’s policies. Additionally, the document outlines Armenia's climate policy and evaluates the performance of Armenia’s 2021-2030 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
