Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: 14 solar stations with a total capacity of 901 MW have been built in Aragatsotn Region, Armenia.

EcoLur: How many hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of that solar photovoltaic power plant?

Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: A total of 178.2 hectares have been allocated for the construction of field photovoltaic power plants.

EcoLur: For the construction of those solar photovoltaic power plants, how many hectares of land of agricultural significance has been changed to the category of lands of energy, transport, communication, communal infrastructure facilities?

Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: 178.2 hectares of pastures of agricultural significance, the purpose of other land areas has been changed to the operational significance of energy for the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 90.1 MW.

EcoLur: Will an area be allocated in the region for the storage of waste generated as a result of the operation of solar photovoltaic stations, if so, how many hectares in the territory of the settlement?

Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: If you mean the waste generated after the expiration of the term of operation of the solar stations, then the need for it will arise in the territory of the region in 25-30 years.

EcoLur: Is it planned to recycle or dispose of the waste generated by the operation of solar photovoltaic stations with the financial means of the body?

Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: At the moment there is no problem of waste disposal, so at the moment there are no decisions made by the relevant bodies on this issue.

EcoLur: Within the framework of the construction project of the 200-megawatt Ayg-1 solar photovoltaic station, Masdar Company, in accordance with the donation agreement signed with Dashtadem and Talin Communities in Aragatsotn Region, made a payment of 320,000,000 AMD for community development. The donated money will be fully directed to the implementation of economic and social programs in the communities as laid down in the signed agreement. What economic and social programs are implemented or will be implemented with that amount?

Aragatsotn Regional Head Sergey Movsisyan: Out of 320 million AMD donated by "Masdar" company in 2021, it is planned to use 60 million AMD (In 2022, it is planned to carry out the reconstruction of the irrigation water network with a subsidy program for Dashtadem settlement in Talin community. The investment made by the community in the implementation of the works is 60 million AMD, which will be allocated from the amount donated by "Masdar" company).
