Development Prospects of "Solar" Dashtadem

Dashtadem settlement of Talin community has become part of Armenia's largest solar project "Aig 1". Dashtadem allocated 377.4495 hectares of agricultural land for "Aig 1" photovoltaic plant. The project is implemented by "Masdar Armenia" company with a 15% shareholding of "Armenian National Interest Fund" CJSC operating under the Armenian government.

In his interview with EcoLur, Administrative Head of Dashtadem settlement, Arkady Martirosyan, presented the development prospects of the village.

"The residents were in favor when the lands of the settlement were donated to "Ayg 1" project. They want to make money in a different way. Dashtadem should be a tourist village in the future, they should not keep livestock, only engage in tourism. We have a fortress of Dashtadem, where investments are made. We also have the infrastructure. The state is solving the issue of the road," Arkady Martirosyan said.

"Masdar Armenia" Company has signed an agreement with Dashtadem and Talin settlements for the donation of land in the amount of 320 million AMD. Another 700 million AMD will be allocated to the community from the state budget. It should be noted that the cadastral value of 377.4495 hectares of land in Dashtadem makes up AMD 822,084,793 according to RA Government's decision No. 1021-A of June 18, 2021.

"We consider the compensation sufficient, because the cadastral value is high, and no one would buy those lands at that value, they are unattractive lands. The Dashtadem internal irrigation network project is being implemented in the amount of 220 million AMD. We expect that we will receive additional support in the process", said Administrative Head of Dashtadem.

Mkrtich Noroyan, a Dashtadem resident, lives near "Dashtadem Castle" historical and cultural reserve. Here he founded a tourist business "Tastes and Smells near Khuta Mgro" recreation area.

According to him, the development of tourism does not mean abandoning agriculture and animal husbandry. On the contrary, they contribute to the development of rural, cultural tourism, ecotourism.

Reminder: a guest house will be built in Dashtadem with 30 million AMD provided by "Masdar Armenia" CJSC.
