Dormer Yerevan Deputy Mayor, Former Director of "Northern Avenue and Cascade" PIU Karen Davtyan and the companies operating hydroelectric power plants belonging to his family went bankrupt by a court decision and are now in the process of bankruptcy.
The small hydroelectric power plants belonging to the Davtyan family were located on the Dzoraget River in Lori Region.
"Katnarat" small hydroelectric power plant on the Dzoraget is operated by "Vanshine" LLC, Karen Davtyan is the only shareholder of the company since 2011. Since 2013, "Vanshine" has started to attract loans from HSBC Bank for the operation of the hydroelectric power plant, first in the amount of $ 1.3 million in 2013, then in the amount of $ 672,000 in 2018. The company has not been able to repay the loan since 2020. In 2017, "Vanshine" LLC pledged the property of "Hazar u Mek" LLC and "VRB Concern" LLC.
The above-mentioned two companies operate "Dzoraget-5" and "Dzoraget-6" SHPPs on Dzoraget. The only shareholder of "VB Concern" is Karen Davtyan, and the only participant of "Hazar u Mek" LLC is Davtyan's wife Mariam Harutyunyan.
According to the relevant pledge agreement, the real estate, relevant equipment and land plots of "Dzoraget-6" and "Katnarat" SHPPs were pledged in favor of the bank. At the end of last year, "Vanshine LLC" was declared bankrupt.
In December 2020, "Davaryan"'s other company, which operates "Dzoraget-5" SHPP, is also recognized as a bankrupt. The debt of " Hazar u Mek " LLC to HSBC Bank is $ 2.7 million and13.6 million AMD, 33.6 million AMD to "Telia Mining". In total, the company owes them 235 million AMD, and 1.4 million dollars and 840 million AMD to Ameriabank.
"VRB Concern" operating "Dzoraget-6" hydroelectric power plant has been declared bankrupt. The company's debt to HSBC Bank is more than 2.4 million USD and 12.5 million AMD. One of the creditors of "VRB Concern" is "Telia Mining", to which the debt exceeds 93 thousand USD.
