From January 22-26, 2025, the FITUR-2025 International Tourism Exhibition took place in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The Tourism Committee of the Republic of Armenia represented Armenia with a large unified pavilion. With the support of Living Landscapes for Market Development (LILA) project, "Nueva Vista" and "AM Travel" partner tourism companies also participated in the exhibition.
FITUR was the first major meeting of the year for tourism professionals worldwide and a leading trade fair for inbound and outbound tourism markets in Latin America. The exhibition brought together tourism industry professionals from 184 countries around the world.
LILA project's partner tour operators showcased Armenia’s tourism attractions and nature-based experiences, as well as the sustainable and inclusive tourism products developed within the framework of LILA project. Armenian representatives at the exhibition had the opportunity to interact with visitors, industry specialists, and potential partners. The goal of participating in the exhibition was to present Armenia’s tourism potential and offers on an international platform, attract more tourists to Armenia, and contribute to sustainable development.
"Proper representation at FITUR every year helps increase tourism flows. Our partner tour operators, with the support of LILA project, are working to integrate the sustainable and inclusive tourism products created in the regions into their tour packages and ensure international tourism flows for these products," Alla Ghazaryan, Project Coordinator of Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO, noted in her interview with Ecolur.
"Living Landscapes for Market Development" (LILA) project is funded by the Government of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and is implemented by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Caucasus and Armenia offices, in cooperation with Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO.
