An alarm signal is being beaten about the illegal mass felling in Lori Region – forests in Atan, Lorut and Dsegh, which are included in Dsegh Forestry Enterprise. In reply to EcoLur’s enquiry, Center for Forest Monitoring Tigran Petrosyan replied that he is aware of this problem, as Hasmik Aslanyan, “Shogher” NGO chairman has informed him. Under him, he has already contacted with Dsegh Forestry Enterprise. “The environmental inspection is already working there. According to the preliminary data, the tree felling is carried out in legally allotted land areas. Our specialists will also visit Lori and give their opinion,” Petrosyan said.
