Without any substantiation Dalma Land users were deprived of their land areas and so far they have been struggling for restitution of their rights and compensation for the land areas they lost.

'It's the 11th year since we have been experiencing the same problems: we are asking to have meetings with the president, prime minister and mayor. They wrote to us that the compensation process will be accomplished successfully. But we don't know what it means. Maybe they have accomplished the process, but we are unaware,' said 'Dalma-Sona' Foundation Chairman Ruzanna Kazaryan on 23 May at the protest demonstration held near the Armenian President's seat.

'In 2003 they grabbed the land areas from people, they allowed the others to privatize their land areas, but these people were not allows, they said these land areas are cultural and historical sites, we can't give them, but instead they gave these land areas to tycoons. It means tycoons were allowed to privatize cultural and historical sites, but ordinary people were not?' Ruzanna Kazaryan added.

'My land area of 2000 cubic meters on Isakov Avenue is now owned by Robert Kocharyan. Based on Mayor's decision in 2008-2009 my land area was allotted to the second President of Armenia, and now a summer house has been constructed there,' Benik Palazyan said.

The protesters said it doesn't matter who they address letters to – Armenian President, PM, Speaker, it's all the same, they receive replies from the Municipality. Under the protesters, their land areas are currently owned by prosecutors, judges and deputies.
