“Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine” CJSC postponed the public hearings on the increase in its productivity planned to be held on 18 July for non-fixed time because of force majeure circumstances, as the Ministry of Environment informs.
Press Secretary of Meghri optimized community in Syunik Region Mariam Tsatryan said in her interview with EcoLur that the reason for postponing the hearings was the tense atmosphere in the combine these days – 13-day-long strike. Mariam Tsatryan also informed that today, on 17 July, a meeting will be held in the area of “Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine” CJSC to discuss the members of the checking committee and its functions. “Today the members of the committee will be decided on, afterwards 38 matters raised by the workers in the course of the meeting with CEO of “GeoProMining” Company Roman Khudoliy will be discussed, particularly the review of the employment contract,” she mentioned. The employees of car fleet and other workshops of other “Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Combine” CJSC held a strike from 2 to 11 July demanding bonuses for working at night and for performing harmful, extremely hard and harmful work and demanding improvement of working conditions. At the meeting held on 11 July roman Khudoliy promised to discuss the raised problems provided that the workers stop the strike till 18 July. In their turn, the workers decided to agree and the natural operation of the combine resumed on 14 July. The call published by the workers on 13 July says in case their demands are not accepted, the workers will resume the strike in one month – 15 August.
