TAI Set Directions for Mining Communities for Which 2 Percent of Royalties Can Be Spent On

For the affected communities receiving 2 percent of the royalties paid by the mining companies, RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure has set the lines of action for which the money can be spent. Those directions are in the draft of RA government's resolution "On approval of directions and priorities of activities provided for by community deductions expenditure program", which the ministry has put into circulation on www.e-draft.am website.

Communities can spend these funds in the following directions:

1)     community services of a general nature;

2)     implementation of powers reserved by law in the field of defense;

3)     implementation of powers reserved by law in the field of public order and security;

4)     education and science;

5)     healthcare;

6)     social security;

7)     culture, sports and religion;

8)     housing utility;

9)     fuel and energy complex;

10)  agriculture, forestry, water management and fish farming;

11)  mining, processing industry, environmental protection and climate change, construction;

12)  transport and communication, road management.
