The administration of Botany Institute after Takhtajyan opposed the plan to build a smelter in Avan. The institute administration issued a statement where it expressed its negative attitude regarding obtaining a permit for the construction of the smelting site planned by "Copper" LLC at the address of the 2nd dead end Acharyan street in Avan administrative district, Yerevan.
