On August 11, 2022, the residents of Meghradzor settlement, Tsaghkadzor community, Kotayk Region, Armenia expressed their opposition to the implementation of geological prospecting activities planned for 2022-2025 for the re-evaluation of nepheline syenite reserves of Tezhaget site in Tejasar mine. They came to that decision after hearing the arguments of specialists, non-governmental organizations, "Center for Environmental Impact Assessment" SNCO of Environment Ministry and the initiator of the project "Am Art Shin" LLC during the public discussions held at the residence of the administrative head of Meghradzor.
As a result of the heated debate, Meghradzor, participating in the discussion, expressed their opposition to the plan, prepared a written application of residents addressed to Tsaghkadzor Local Government, under which they collected their signatures. The letter says: "We, the residents of Meghradzor settlement, Tsaghkadzor community, Kotayk Region, Armenia, having participated in the discussion of EIA preliminary assessment application for geological prospecting planned for 2022-2025 for the reassessment study of nepheline syenite reserves of Tezhaget site in Tezhasar mine, Kotayk Region, organized by "Am Art Shin" LLC at the residence of the administrative head of Meghradzor settlement on 11.08.2022, inform you that we are against the project and demand the Tsaghkadzor local government to issue a negative conclusion to the project."
