"ASSAT" LLC plans to carry out a geological prospecting for the purpose of extracting minerals in the eastern and southern wings of the Central site of Qaraberd gold mine in Lori Region. Public hearings on the planned activity are scheduled for December 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the residence of Head of Pambak Community in Lori Region, as we learn from the official website of Pambak Municipality.
According to the project presented by "ASSAT" LLC, in the southern wing of the mine, operations in mineral body No. 3 continue with its many branches, which are also subject to studies in order to get a full understanding of the reserves of the Central site and to include new reserves in operation.
The company plans to perform geophysical works, geochemical sampling and research in these areas.
It should be noted that on November 4, 2022, the company initiated another discussion on carrying out geological prospecting for 2022-2025 in the eastern and southern wings of the central site of Qaraberd gold mine in Pambak village, extending the period of the extraction project of the central site, and building an ore-processing plant. Local residents, however, failed those hearings. Residents have been raising the alarm signal about the damages caused by the mine for years, talking about the drying of crops, the problem of dust spreading on the pastures of the village as a result of explosions in the mine.
