Environment Ministry of has deemed it inadmissible the implementation of the activities of the smelting site planned by "Copper" LLC in Avan administrative district in Yerevan. RA Deputy Environment Minister Tigran Gabrielyan informed about this in his letter N3/26.7/115 on January 9, 2023, in response to the inquiry filed by Nina Hajoyan, an Avan resident.
Reminder: a number of citizens of Avan administrative district in Yerevan sent letters signed by hundreds of residents to Environment Minister of Hakob Simidyan, Mayor of Yerevan Hrachya Sargsyan and the head of Avan administrative district Vahe Hakobyan, demanding not to allow the construction of a metal smelting site in Avan administrative district, and issue a negative conclusion to the preliminary environmental impact assessment (EIA) application submitted by the company.
