The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) is a global initiative promoting the open and accountable management of natural resources, to which nearly 60 countries are members. The goal of the EITI is to create transparent and accountable natural resource systems and public dialogue through a multi-stakeholder group (MSG) of government, extractive companies and civil society representatives.
The Republic of Armenia has been a member of the EITI since March 2017.
The faction of the civil society of the EITI is planned to include five members and five alternate members, one place each for the representatives of the scientific community and regional NGOs.
The faction of the civil society of EITI invites a meeting of public structures interested in the EITI affairs to present the work done in the last two years within the framework of the EITI and to discuss the electoral system of the faction, which will be followed by the organization of elections of representatives of the faction in order to fill the vacant seats.
The meeting of representatives of the civil society interested in the issues of the EITI will be held on October 18, from 15:00 to 17:00.
