2,448 Employees of ZCMC Vote "Yes" on Wage Increase and Improved Working Conditions

According to Radio Azatutyun, 2,448 employees of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) CJSC voted "yes" in a referendum demanding a wage increase and improved working conditions. The company's official data indicates that ZCMC employs over 4,600 people.

It is worth noting that since January 31, 2025, hundreds of ZCMC workers have been staging a protest and have refused to report to work. The ZCMC administration and the company’s trade union have labeled the workers’ actions as "illegal", stating that the number of employees involved in the unauthorized protests does not exceed 7-8% of the total workforce.

In response, the protesting employees initiated a vote, where the majority supported the demands raised by the protest.

The Republican Union of Employers of Armenia has also commented on the situation, categorizing ZCMC workers’ protest as "illegal."
