The leaders of Alumina Corporation Company didn’t turn up at the public hearings they organized on the project of developing Tezhasar mine. The hearings were appointed on 30 May at the building of Hrazdan regional administration. The representatives of public, local administration, NGOs, Nature Protection Ministry, as well as the projectors were present at the hearings.
The company sent its representative responsible for the operation of “Alumina Corporation”, Varuzh Avagyan, who refused to answer any question. “The company director Emin Knyazyan is not in the city. I arrived here to say that the director is off. I’m not a director or an environmentalist and can’t answer your questions.”
The present people signed a statement that the hearings failed due to the company. One question is left: who trusts the government the development of strategic raw materials and gold, if it’s the second time when the public hearings are almost failed. In the first case, the company postponed the hearings of 3 May without giving any reasons.
