“G Metals Investment Limited” LLC intends to carry out geological prospecting in an area of 850 ha in the southern part of Dastakert, Syunik Region. The company will particularly search for gold and other metals and to specify the quantitative and qualitative properties of their mining.
On 14 August, at 14:00, the public hearings on assessing the environmental impact of the geoprospecting in the southern part of Dastakert from 2016 to 2017 will be held in Lori Regional Municipality, Syunik Region.
Under the project, the works will be carried out in Arevis, Ayri, Chichkali, Candali, Salvardi and other areas, which are located in the surroundings of Sisian, while the closest residential places are Arevis, Tsoghuni, Toruniq Villages and Dastakert Town.
100 holes will be drilled to take samples for gold diagnostic analyses.
The main water source in the area is the Vorotan River with its Sisian, Ayri and Lor tributaries. The company assures it won’t pollute water, there are no red-listed species in the area of geoprospecting and there are no specially protected areas of nature nearby.
