GeoProMning company allotted 5 million USD within the framework of technical re-equipment program, aimed at further expansion of Sotk mine operation during this current year.
The program includes capital investments in technical re-equipment of the mine to improve the technical-economic level of production through introduction of advanced equipment and technology, mechanization and automation of production, modernization and replacement of outdated and physically worn-out equipment with new, more productive equipments, and also to improve the common facilities and support services.
Within the program of technical re-equipment, the company acquired and commissioned 10 BelAZ dump trucks with 45-ton capacity, several bulldozers Caterpiller, 6 loader and drilling machine Atlas Copco. In the month of July, unique and the first in the history of mining in Armenia equipment - hydraulic excavator RH-90C of the American company BUCYRUS arrived in Armenia, which is operated in complex with four dump trucks BelAZ-75131 with carrying capacity 130 tonnes. Till the end of the year, it is planned to acquire a 12-ton forklift, crushing and sorting complex, as well as to build a hangar for repair of 130 ton heavy dump trucks. Under the plan, for these objectives will be spent another 2 million dollars.
The world's leading manufacturers of heavy mining equipment, such as Caterpiller, Atlas Copco, Belaz, Terex, Busyrus international are suppliers of the GeoProMining Group of Companies. Each year GeoProMining takes part in international exhibitions of mining equipment and technology in Europe, the USA, China, Australia as well as in the annual exhibition "WORLD MINE EXPO" on innovative technologies of mining industry.
Technical staff of the company regularly undergo training at factories of manufacturers on the use of the equipment. GeoProMining Company acquired 100% shares of Sterlite Gold Ltd. from an international company Vedanta Resources in September 2007.
Sterlite Gold Ltd. was the sole owner of the company AGRC. Now AGRC is renamed GPM GOLD. GPM GOLD operates Sotk gold deposit and Ararat Gold Recovery Plant.
