Lethal Accident at ‘Dundee Precious Metals Kapan’ Company

On 27 May, at around 10:00 a.m., an accident took place in the southern section of Shahahumyan underground mine developed by ‘Dundee Precious Metals Kapan’ Company with the lethal outcome of a worker, as the company informs.

Under the information we have, the miners found their dead co-worker and immediately informed about the accident. Under Company trade union chairman Arsen Hayrapetyan, the accident occurred during the morning shift, when a stone fell down on driller Khachatur A., which caused his immediate death. ‘Khachatur was alone at that time, as drillers usually work alone, there are no other victims. He was a good and experienced worker, he has long been working for us, besides he had a good personality. He was 37 years old, married, had two minors,’ Hayrapetyan said.
