

On December 24, 2020, “Rosatom” Fuel Company “TVEL” and the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) signed the nuclear fuel supply contract for 2021, as the press release disseminated by "TVEL" says, TASS reports. The ANPP has traditionally been one of the country's main sources of electricity. The plant generates about 40% of Armenia's electricity annually.
The only nuclear power unit in Armenia, which has an installed capacity of 407.5 MW, is supplied with vibration-resistant fuel for VVER-440 reactor manufactured by Machine-Building Plant (Electrostal).
