

On August 4th and 5th, this year the first working meeting related to the issues of the ANPP Unit 2 life re-extension took place at the Armenian NPP.
As we learn from the official website of the ANPP, the working group that was established with this purpose comprises representatives of “HAEK” CJSC, RA Committee for Nuclear Safety Regulation, “Armatom SRI” CJSC and “Nuclear and Radiation Safety STC” CJSC from the Armenian side and those of “Rusatom Service” JSC, “Concern Rosenergoatom” JSC, OKB “GIDROPRESS” JSC, АО “Atomenergoproekt” JSC and “Kurchatovsky Institute” SRI from the Russian side.
The agenda of the meeting included the discussion of the ANPP Unit 2 Life Re-Extension Concept Design developed by the Armenian NPP. The activities and approaches proposed by the “HAEK” CJSC in the Life Re-Extension Concept Design, as well as the approaches applied during life re-extension of the NPP Units with WWER-440 reactors in the Russian Federation, the modernization activities performed, as well as challenges arising during the life re-extension have been discussed. The Meeting participants exchanged opinions and outlined the further steps related to the concept design updating and the performance of the working group.
Under the official press release, the meetings of the joint working group will be conducted on a long-term basis and will be focused on discussion of specific topical issues.
