

The specialists of the training department at Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) visited the Balakovo Nuclear Power Plant with the support of the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). The international visit, which took place on September 6-11, 2021, was dedicated to the study and exchange of best practices in the field of staff training, according to www.rosenergoatom.ru.
During the five-day meeting, the staff of the Balakovo NPP Training Center (UPC) acquainted their Armenian counterparts with the staff training and qualification system, lesson topics, classrooms, and technical equipment of laboratories.
Armenian experts got acquainted with the practice of preventing personnel mistakes at the Balakovo NPP while maintaining critical knowledge, the safe operation of the nuclear power plant depends on.
"This idea originated in 2017 during the technical assistance mission of WANO Moscow Center at our nuclear power plant. A visit to the Balakovo nuclear power plant to study the activities of the training center was one of the suggestions of WANO experts," Aharon Manukyan, Deputy Head of the Training and Training Department of the Armenian NPP said.
