Nature Protection and Mining Inspection Body has found out the circumstances of the mass death of the fish in the reservoir located in the administrative territory of Sevaberd community, Kotayk Region, Armenia.
Under high winter conditions, the water surface froze and in the absence of oxygen, fish died (hypoxia).
As for the high amount of ions in the water exceeding the standard, it could be caused by the decay of the dead fish," the statement said.
