War Situation in Artsakh: International Response

We are presenting the response to the war situation in Artsakh in different countries.

France

French National Assembly MP François Pupon tweeted on Twitter. "As an MP, I continue my initiative. Tomorrow I will submit a resolution to the parliament, which I was the first to sign, and other MPs also joined me. According to the resolution put to a vote, the French National Assembly will recognize the independence of Artsakh, the right of Armenians to live on their land."

Spain

21 MPs of the Spanish Congress and 15 senators issued a joint statement condemning the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia and Artsakh. "We call on the international community to recognize the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination in order to ensure the right of the citizens of Artsakh to a peaceful life," the statement said.

Austria

The Austrian parliament unanimously accepted the proposal-mediation on Nagorno Karabakh, the main provisions of the mediation refer to Austria’s and EU's ceasefire efforts, condemnation of Turkish intervention խաղաղ arms's peace talks և Vienna The provisions refer to the ceasefire efforts of Austria և EU, condemnation of Turkish intervention and arms and conducting peace talks in Vienna.

USA

Adam Schiff, Member of the US House of Representatives. "The United States must make it clear to Azerbaijan and Turkey that if they continue to use violence instead of striving for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, we are ready to recognize the Artsakh Republic as an independent state."

More than 100 members of the US Senate have called for an end to Azerbaijani’s aggression against Armenia and Artsakh and called to punish the Erdogan and Aliev regimes for war crimes, as the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) informs.

Russian Federation

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov: "We do not agree with the position voiced by Turkey on the Karabakh issue, which has been voiced several times by President Aliev. There are no secrets here. We can not agree with the statements that a military solution to the conflict is possible.

Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs․ "I think a newly recognized state called the Republic of Artsakh will soon appear on the world map. There is no alternative to the international recognition of Artsakh.

Cyprus

"The Cypriot parliament unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh."

Czech Republic

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament has adopted a resolution on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

In the resolution, the Committee on Foreign Affairs calls on the governments of third countries not to get involved in the conflict, not to allow the transfer of individual militants from other territories to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

Greece

Resolution condemning the military attack of Azerbaijan in Armenia by the Mayor and the Municipal Council of Nea Smyrna

 We believe in the right of peoples to live independently in their historic homelands, in law and in peace. And we will fight together to ensure a peaceful future away from bombings and the terror painted on children's eyes.

Resolution adopted by the City Council of Naples-Sikies, Thessaloniki, Greece.

Naples-Sikies City Council:

• Condemns Turkey's murderous attitude towards Armenians;

• Advocates a thorough solution to the issue, respecting the territorial sovereignty of the countries in the region and the national identity of the peoples;

• Stands by the Armenian people in the just struggle for the independence of Nagorno Karabakh and its international recognition.

Resolution adopted by the City Council of Kavala, Greece.

"We believe in the right of peoples to live independently in their historic homeland. We stand for peace, justice and democracy in the region."
