Putin, requesting to begin consultations to determine the type and amount of assistance that the Russian Federation can provide to the Republic of Armenia for its safety, we confirm the commitment of the Russian Federation to the allied obligations regarding the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, included in the contract on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia on August 29, 1997. In accordance with the Agreement, Russia will provide Yerevan with all the necessary assistance if the struggle will be moved directly to Armenia.

Once again, we call on the parties of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to an immediate ceasefire, de-escalate tension and return to substantive negotiations in order to achieve a peaceful settlement based on the basic principles, following agreements reached by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan Republic and the Republic of Armenia in Moscow 10 October of this year.
