The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS) has appealed to the international scientific community urging to condemn the large-scale war waged by Azerbaijan and Turkey against the people of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) and to recognize the independence of the Artsakh Republic by their countries. Stressing that the message is based only on humanitarian motives, the NAS RA considers the recognition of the Artsakh Republic as the only possible way to stop the grave crimes against the civilian population of Artsakh and to exclude a new genocide a century after the genocide committed by the Turks
