Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan has reached a preliminary agreement with the partners of the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF) to develop an eco-tourism program in "Khor Virap" Reserve, as RA Environment Ministry informs.
On July 20, 2021, Romanos Petrosyan paid a working visit with CNF representatives to "Khor Virap", "Goravan Avazutner" state sanctuaries, "Khosrov Forest" state reserve.
"Khor Virap" reserve is located on the left side of the Araks River in the right part of the Khor Virap church complex, the ancient capital of Armenia, Artashat. Romanos Petrosyan referred to the favorable conditions for the development of ecotourism on the spot, emphasizing the preservation of the natural environment.
Afterwards, in the administrative building of Khosrov Forest State Reserve SNCO in Vedi, the acting minister held a consultation with SNCO management, the heads of subdivisions, and the heads of the precincts of the reserve. The process of launching newly developed eco-tourism routes was discussed.
