On November 29, a new 254 MW Yerevan-2 combined cycle power plant (EHEA-2) was opened in Yerevan. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took part in the opening ceremony of the station.
The program was designed by the Italian companies "Renco", "Siemens" and "Armpower" founded by "Simest" state investment fund. It is located in the area of YCCPP-1 station.
According to President of "Renco" company Giovanni Rubini, the production volume of the new station can provide 20-25% of Armenia's electricity. It was noted that after the completion of the adjustment works, the power plant will supply the cheapest electricity produced by such stations to RA energy network, which will cost about 28-29 AMD per kilowatt.
About $ 270 million has been invested in the project.
