Vahagn Khachaturyan was elected the President of Republic of Armenia. On March 3, 2022, 71 deputies took part in the secret ballot of the presidential elections in the National Assembly, who unanimously voted for Vahagn Khachaturyan.
Opposition MPs did not participate in the election.
Vahagn Khachaturyan was elected in the second round because the necessary votes for the first round were not enough. It should be noted that before that the newly elected president was the RA Minister of High Technological Industry.
