Armenian Prime Minister Assigned to Develop Steps Aimed Solving Problems in Water Sector

A consultation was held in the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the issues of the water sector were discussed,as the official website of the Armenian Government informs.

In particular, the distribution of the water sector, the policy being implemented, the issues related to Lake Sevan, the artesian basin in Ararat Valley, the protection of water resources, the problems related to the supply of drinking and irrigation water were addressed.

An earnest exchange of ideas took place, various observations related to the existing problems were presented. Outlining and implementing comprehensive steps towards efficient use of water resources, reduction of losses, formation of financial scheme of the system and solving other problems were emphasized.

In this context, Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed to form an interdepartmental working group, which will discuss and develop the steps to solve the existing problems in the water sector and will present an annual action plan.
