The European Investment Bank will grant a loan of 73 million Euros to the Armenian Government for the rehabilitation of water supply and discharge system in a number of communities in Armenia. The loaning funds will be used in the frames of ‘Community Infrastructures – Stage 2' program. The loan will be provided in 10 tranches. On 27 November the Armenian Government approved the conclusion of financial agreement in the frames of this program between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank, which will result in providing 25,500,000 Euros to Armenia.
Due to these loaning funds day-round quality water supply will be provided to Vanadzor town and 16 rural villages, distribution networks in Gyumri Town and 14 rural communities will be comprehensively rehabilitated and day-round quality water supply will be provided. Besides, the sewage discharge will be conducted in Armavir and Metsamor towns. The rehabilitation of water supply network and sewage discharge system will be conducted in 6 towns and 37 rural communities served by 'Hayjurkoyughi' CJSC.
The program will also be funded by the KfW loaning and grant resources and EU NIF grant and co-funding provided by the Armenian Government.
