On February 17, the general meeting of "Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center" (TIAC) was held. During the meeting, TIAC executive director Sona Ayvazyan presented the 2022 annual report, Chair of TIAC Council Armen Ohanyan presented the report on the activities of the Council, which the participants approved of the meeting. The issues of reinterpreting the Amalya Kostanyan award were discussed. Reminder: Amalya Kostanyan stood at the beginning of establishing "Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center" NGO and headed it until September 2010.
During Amalya Kostanyan's twenty years of activity, TIAC has become a leading non-governmental organization in Armenia that carries out control in the fields of effective governance and fight against corruption. After her premature death, the Amalya Kostanyan Award was established, which is awarded for principled and courageous activities and significant contributions to the development of civil society.
Elections were held for a new member of TIAC Council, as a result of which the president of "EcoLur" Informational NGO Inga Zarafyan was elected.
"Thank you for the trust shown. Corruption is a cobweb that permeates all areas of our lives. If we manage to tear even one or several threads of that spider's web, it means we can tear it completely," Inga Zarafyan noted.
