EcoLur has just received an alarm signal from a Yerevan resident, that whitefish is being sold near the covered market, behind the bus stop. “I came up to them and asked whether the sale of the whitefish was permitted. They told me not to ask questions, and to buy the fish or to leave. How the whitefish could be sold in the center of Yerevan, when whitefish fishing is banned. They were sure to have sponsors. You should olly see the length of the fish,” the resident said. Reminder: the whitefish fishing in Lake Sevan is banned. The industrial reserves of the whitefish have been exhausted because of the overfishing in Lake Sevan: only 7 or 8 tons have been left. The illegal fishing in Lake Sevan is not-hidden, which sometimes finishes with human losses. Recently two Tsovak villagers got drown in Lake Sevan.
