“I welcome this project. At last we will have an opportunity to solve serious socio-economic problems in the region certainly without causing any damage to Sevan. Besides socio-economic problems, we will also solve the problem of recovering the population of the young fish,” said Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan in regard with “Complex Program for Recovery of Trout Reserves and Fish Breeding in Lake Sevan” in the course of the final press conference for 2013. A minute before saying this Aram Harutyunyan stated, “Our main task is not replenishment of the young fish, but the function of self – recovery, which we can’t achieve so far and we think these works need to be continued to ensure the natural process of self-recovery.”

It’s rather interesting how the Minister is going to solve the main task, the process of self-recovery, if the young fish in Lake Sevan will be fed with artificial forage containing nitrogen and phosphor, which are water pollutants.

The Minister added confidently, “This is a really serious program. As far as I understand, here we’ll have a serious cooperation of the state and the private.”

Under Aram Harutyunyan, the program should be implemented stage by stage. “Upon the Armenian President’s assignment a working group has been established, where are also involved, and if we see a problem, naturally we will stop the problem,” the Minister said.
