Teghout Village, Lori Region, is experiencing another problem with water to be added to all other problems. This problem was discussed at the meeting with Vallex Company held in Teghout Village on 15 January. EcoLur: This problem was raised still in 2006, when “Vallex Group” Company submitted Teghout project. Ex Lori Regional Head Henrik Kochinyan discussed the problem of supplying water to Teghout and Shnogh villages – both drinking and irrigation water.
The company replied it would definitely solve the problem, nevertheless, it hasn’t been done so far, though the company uses the water designed for villagers for its own needs. What about compensations> Vallex Company’s Reply: "The company uses drinking water from Agarak water branch running up to Noyemberyan. The water has already been taken to our section, Shnogh already receives water and uses the branch as well.
Comment by EcoLur: So Teghout village turns out not to get water. Suren Yeritsyan – Environmental Manager at “Teghout” CJSC: This year we also supply water to Teghout. Teghout Village Head Frunze Norikyan: "The rehabilitation of the water pipeline in Teghout Village is planned with the funding of the French Company.” Comment by EcoLur: If water supply is carried out at the expense of the French Company, it’s not compensation to the village promised by Vallex.
