Lori Region Forest Natural Regrowth Disturbed Because of Illegal and Irregular Forest Felling

The natural regrowth conditions for the forests in Lori Region have been disturbed because of illegal and irregular forest felling, as the socio-economic development project of Lori Region for 2014-2017 says. The document presents the reforestation works implemented in Lori for 2007-2012. In 2007-2010 forest cultures were planted in the total area of 763.5 ha. 

Under the official information, the state forest fund of Lori Region makes up 101205 ha, out of which 85799 ha is forest-covered. The forest und makes up about 27% of the region territory.
