"Sevan" National Park Guards Prevented Young Fish Poaching

The special guard detachment of "Sevan" National Park prevented the small-scale poaching of the fish of Gegharkuni species. The Foundation for Restoration of Sevan Trout Stocks and Development of Aquaculture recently released about 280,000 trouts of the Gegharkuni type in the Karchaghbyur and Masrik rivers. The poachers tried to steal a significant amount of small fish weighing 7 grams on average through the special nets installed in Karchaghbyur River. The guards, however, found the net and released the small fish piled up in it, as the press service of Environment Ministry informs.

According to Environment Ministry, the net was located in the lower parts of Karchaghbyur, along the entire width of the river. "A report on the incident was submitted to RA Police by "Sevan" National Park SNCO."
