“Lake Sevan level increase brings to great disturbances in authorities,” said Hakob Sanasaryan, Chairman of the Greens Union. The World Bank has implemented the program on recovering environmental balance in the lake, where calculations have been conducted improperly, maybe intentionally.
Hakob Sanasaryan thinks that water level increase will definitely be safe for the lake.
The Chairman of the Committee on Lake Sevan Issues by the President of Armenia Vladimir Movsisyan said, “A couple of years ago taking into consideration wave height the mark was 1908 meters, now this mark is 1905 meters. Several years ago Urban Development Ministry changed wave height based on engineering opinions. Ask them.”
“Ex Urban Development Minister easily approved his anti-Sevan project when he became Nature Protection Minister. It turns out our Sevan depends on our officials’ will. It’s a pity; this topic is not much spoken about,” said Inga Zarafyan, “EcoLur” Informational NGO Head.
