State Environmental Inspection Hasn't Carried out Inspections in Ararat Valley?

The State Environmental Inspection hasn’t carried out in Ararat Valley to find out how the water resources are used, as Mari Chaqryan, PR Officer of Aarhus Centers of Armenia, said at the discussion of EcoLur’s “Biblical Disaster” held at EcoLur Press Club on 4 July.

“Our Aarhus Center has made an enquiry to Nature Protection Ministry whether water is taken from the wells within standards, whether its gravity or pumping...? No data available. It’s clear if no inspections have been carried out, how are we going to blame someone, there are no grounds, so it turns out it’s an illegal process,” Mari Chakryan said. In her opinion, the economy of Armenia is based on using many resources, there is no science-government cooperation and the opinions of scientists are not taken into consideration.

Under Mari Chaqryan, this problem should be solved only in one way, “We, public representatives, we should change the direction and make them and demand from them to make decisions with us.”
