Lilit Stepanyan on her FB page posted photos in regard with flooding villagers’ houses and elimination agrofood with the water let out of Lake Sevan.
“On Saturday, at 18:30, guys on Jeeps arrived and stated all that a little amount of water will be let out of Lake Sevan allegedly to irrigate the arid land areas in Ararat Valley. It amused us as a humanistic measure. Nevertheless, the events reminded us a Hollywood movie…The huge amount of water let out of Lake Sevan flooded and continued flooding the houses, land areas and wells located near the Hrardan riverbed and eliminating and nullifying villagers’ annual work, income and hopes….Calls to 911, MES employees’ presence and some other people couldn’t get in touch with the employees of the competent body so as to reduce the water amount even a bit…Eventually, the same amount of water could be let out in three days without damaging many communities. Each citizen of Armenia is politically so mature, that they clearly realize who needs this water, whose fish farms need water and why on Sunday…” Lilit Stepanyan posted.
