Dalar community residents in Ararat Region experience serious lack of water, but not because of its absence, but because of incorrect water distribution system. The village has five artesian wells, but the water reaches only the central parts of the village. “…The Azat River flows near our village. We used to use it water. There are two reservoirs constructed on the river, which are protected with dams. The reservoirs are opened, when there is need for water. The fee for water is 1000-1500 AMD for hour. ” The Dalar residents were complaining, even if water is given to them, they get only half of it.
According to Dalar resident, the half of village land areas is not cultivated, and around 200 ha have turned into desert in the suburbs of the village. “We can irrigate only those land areas, which are close to the artesian wells…The only solution is to drill a new artesian well in the western part of the village, no other way out…” The problem with water is to be solved,” the villagers said.
