Some 169,000,000 c. m. of water will be released from Lake Sevan for irrigation purposes this year, the Government of Armenia decided on Thursday.
The law allows releasing 170,000,000 c. m. at most, with the average release in the last years being 150,000,000.
Head of the Agricultural Project Office of Armenia's Agriculture Ministry Gagik Khachatryan said that despite snowy winter this year there is much less water in the country's ponds due mostly to dry spring.
