EUR 26 million is available for the construction of a new landfill site adjacent to Nubarasheni landfill site: on June 12, 2023, Nora Martirosyan, Deputy Director of "Yerevan Development Investment Program Implementation Office", informed that another 5 million euros are needed during the procedural session of Yerevan Municipality.
The new landfill site is planned to be built on an area of around 29 hectares, and it will be designed and built in accordance with the European standards. According to Nora Martirosyan, a technical and economic study was carried out with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). "The report is ready. It was submitted to the government. In case of a positive response from their side, we will apply to the EBRD to start the design phase," she noted.
