“Yeghvard” Water Users Company Head M. Hovhannisyan assures each year several million drams are spent on Arzni-Shamiram canal and espepcially on cleaning inter-household systems from garbage and manure, pollution level is so high that workers even refuse from cleaning canals with the sum of money designed and demand higher salaries.
"Nairi" Medical Center also dumps its wastes into the canal. Moreover, in different parts of the city this water gets enriched with sewage water, while farmers irrigate their fields with this water and treat us with agricultural food rich in chemical substances, various disease bacteria and other hazardous substances.
